Luxury Pre Loved Espadrille Wedges. Sz 39-40 in Suede

From the Lifestyle brand “White Ginger“, these espadrille wedges are handmade in Bali.

The jute-style wedge is beautifully woven in a cream & light brown colour.

The espadrilles are open-toe,  with a 3.5 cm strap towards the front.

The soles have the brand logo, White Ginger on each & size 42.

Colour: light grey

Super Soft Suede throughout, apart from wedge

Long ankle ties

Leather Soles with rubber on the heel & forward foot area for grip.

The espadrilles are new but the soles show minor signs of being “tried on” inside the shop.

Please note that these espadrilles are stamped size 42 on the sole but they fit UK size 6-7 (39-40)

The wedged heel espadrille was originally commissioned by Yves Saint Laurent in the 1960s and has been hugely popular ever since.

It was not until the 1970’s that the wedged espadrille gained iconic status. Created by Yves Saint Laurent, who visited a trade show in Paris and met Spanish manufacturer Castañer, he commissioned Castañer to create an espadrille with a wedged heel, which were a huge success. They fitted in well with other 1970’s fashion, due to their durable heel and bohemian look
Today, the wedged espadrille is still a popular shoe, and now they can be adorned and styled in a multiple of different ways. The original flat canvas espadrille has also stood the test of time; it still remains a popular and practical shoe to this day, with little having changed from the original ‘espardenya’ of Catalonia and Occitania.
